The starting point

A 2.7 m × 2.4 m bedroom with an overflowing wardrobe, suitcases on top, clothes piled on a chair and a cluttered bedside table.

The goal

Give every item a home, make the wardrobe close and leave visible clear surfaces.

What was done

  1. Edited the wardrobe one category at a time and donated items not worn in a year.
  2. Moved suitcases to a hall cupboard.
  3. Added two lidded, wheeled under-bed boxes for off-season clothes.
  4. Fitted a second hanging rail inside the wardrobe for shirts.
  5. Fixed three wall hooks for worn-once clothes to replace the 'chair-drobe'.
  6. Swapped an open bedside shelf for a small table with a drawer.

The result

The wardrobe closes easily, the chair is usable, and the bedside holds a lamp and one book. The room feels larger because the floor and surfaces are clear.
